An Empathy helps you to synthesize your observations and interview insights, and figure out unexpected outputs about your user’s needs and dreams. This tool enable you to produce “aha”!! moments because you organize insights and understand user stories, wants and needs.
Good innovation is grounded in a deep understanding of the person for whom you are designing for. There are many techniques you can use to develop empathy, one of my favorite ones is the “Empathy Map”.
It’s fairly easy to determine what the user said and did. However, determining what they thought and felt should be based on careful observations and analysis as to how they behaved and responded to certain activities, suggestions, conversations, etc.
